Tobacco Control Program to Begin SmokeStoppers Cessation Support

A free program designed especially to help people who want to quit using tobacco has been announced by the Greene County Tobacco Control Program. SmokeStoppers, a group program to help people gain the strength and reinforcement to quit, will begin with an introductory session at noon Jan. 6. The session will be held at Greene County Memorial Hospital, 350 Bonar Avenue, Waynesburg. Participants are encouraged to bring their lunch, as food will not be provided. The Greene County Tobacco Control Program is collaborating on the SmokeStoppers program with Community Health Challenge of Southwestern Pennsylvania. Community Health Challenge is registered in the Pennsylvania Department of Health pre-approved list of cessation programs. For more information on the SmokeStoppers program, call Angie VanDyne, tobacco control coordinator for the Tobacco Control Program, at 724-852-5276 or 888-317-7106.
