The Infralab Source from: TobaccoChina Online-07/11/2000 07/11/2000 ![]() Infralab provides fast, accurate and dependable measurements of moisture, nicotine and sugars at all stages in GLT and Primary processing. The system uses proven Infrared engineering measurement technology, a robust sampling system and PC Windows NTTM software for simple operation with full networking facilities for easy integration into modern Laboratory information Management Systems (LIMS).
Infralab offers unrivalled repeatability for at-line or laboratory sample analysis and can be confidently used to replace traditional, time consuming laboratory test methods. Up to 120 samples an hour can be analyzed providing operator independent results, logged directly to the PC. Infralab can, therefore, be used directly as part of a factory QC system. It can also offer major time savings when used for calibrating and checking on-line instrumentation.
The optional bar code reader allows rapid, error free identification of samples, automatically logging the sample number to ensure even simpler use, especially where large sample throughputs are common.
Multiple measurements on every sample provide statistical confidence limits with each analysis, minimizing the need for replicate testing. Tobacco samples require no special preparation and are simply placed in a tray and presented to the analyzer.
Major benefits to users include:
· Large time and cost savings for routine QC analysis
· Dependable results for accurately monitoring process performance
· Improved product quality and consistency Infralab provides a safe, non-contact and non-destructive test. Users can be sure of its integrity thanks to its automatic internal standardization before and after each analysis.
Infralab is further enhanced by its Windows NTTM software platform offering full networking capability through its DDE link. Measurement data is immediately accessible via the DDE to factory LIMS for efficient tracking of samples and their measured values. The moisture data available through the LIMS can also be used for other LIMS integrated tests to provide, for example, moisture corrected filling power results.
Its simplicity and speed of operation, reliability, minimal maintenance and ability to be integrated into the factory system makes Infralab the Right Choice as a QC tool for tobacco processors worldwide.
