After market investigations, Likeda Packing Co. Ltd. in Wenzhou found that China had been relying on the import of gilding tipping paper from Austria and decided to develop a new product. It invested heavily on the project and invited experts from other parts of China.  Three months later, the company developed a substitute, ending China’s long dependence on import of gilding tipping paper.
