Demand for Aluminum Foil Increases Year by Year

At present, China produces 60,000 tons of aluminium foil annually. However, the output is short of demand. The demand for aluminium foil from the package industry increases with each passing year. By 2005, the market demand for aluminum foil is expected to exceed 100,000 tons. Nearly 70 percent of the demand came from cigarette package. By 2002, the annual consumption of aluminum foil by cigarette package will rise to 48,000 tons a year. The annual demand of candy for aluminum foil will climb to 32 million tons a year, the pharmaceutical package to 25 million tons, the soft package to 10,000 tons and tooth-paste to 3,000 tons.
