China's Acetate Fibre Market to be Developed

The market for acetate fibre, a major product only next to cellulosic fibre, remains to be tapped in China. The global annual output of acetate fibre is estimated at 770,000 tons, accounting for 36 percent of the total fibre output in the world. The output of cellobionic tow for tobacco use is 520,000 tons. In 1996, each ton of filament cost 4,638 U.S. dollars and the price for a ton of tow was 3,948 dollars.  By adding tariff and value-added tax, a ton of filament sold in China was 50,874 yuan and a ton of tow was 43,303 yuan. This is a heavy burden for an enterprise and dampens its enthusiasm for developing new products. Enditem SOURCE FROM: China Cigarette Material News
