Board Changes at Hauni

Juergen Spykman will become deputy chairman of Hauni Machinenbau's executive board effective Jan. 1. In April he will succeed acting CEO Christopher Somm. Somm will then focus exclusively on his group executive board responsibilities.

Somm will remain responsible for the company's Business Area Tobacco and for Corporate Center Strategic Marketing and Sales. He will also take on additional tasks relating to the group's strategic long-term goal, which is to be achieved by 2025.

On Oct. 1, Richard Bauer, acting CEO of the Koerber group executive board, will join the supervisory board of Koerber (Hauni's parent company) and Somm will take over his position as chairman of Hauni's supervisory board.

Somm has been chairman of Hauni's executive board since October 2009. Prior to that, he was responsible for sales as a member of the executive board.

Spykman has been working in the Business Area Tobacco for more than 20 years. He has been a member of Hauni's executive board since 2009.

"We are pleased that in Juergen Spykman we have found a successor from within our own ranks," said Richard Bauer, chairman of the supervisory board. "Mr. Spykman is familiar with every detail of the Business Area Tobacco and he will continue the strategic realignment that is already underway. He and his fellow executive board members are an experienced team that will successfully master these challenges."

The executive board will consist of three members in the future: Juergen Spykman, Juergen Heller and Martin Hermann. Enditem
