Tomra Launches Hround-breaking Sorting System Source from: Tobacco Journal 10/21/2015 ![]() Tomra Sorting Tobacco has launched what it calls the world's first sorting system integrating string removal, metal detection, product singulation and fragmentation. Dubbed Cerberus, the unit was jointly developed with Italian tobacco machinery maker Comas, the company said. "Cerberus provides processors with a more accurate and efficient integrated metal detection and string removal system which has never before been available," said Lars Janssens, area sales manager for Tomra's tobacco sorting unit. Compactness of the Cerberus sorter reduces both its footprint and the amount of equipment requiring cleaning and maintenance, Tomra said. The unit was launched at the TabExpo trade show in London.
