Germany: Goebel IMS Lands Biggest Order in Company History

Goebel IMS will deliver nine machines to Hangzhou Huafeng Paper Co of China this year, which the machine maker said represents the biggest single order in the history of the slitter-rewinder specialist.

Seven Optima Z slitter-rewinder units and two U 16S paper winders will go to Hangzhou, which makes plug-wrap in addition to cigarette and other specialty papers. Financial details were not revealed. Capacity at the company based in Hangzhou, the capital of Zhengjiang Province is 40,000 tons. With the addition of the nine units, the paper company will operate 25 Goebel IMS machines.

Earlier this year, Italian parent company IMS Deltamatic merged its slitter-rewinder subsidiaries Goebel Schneid- und Wickelsysteme, based in Darmstadt, Germany, and IMS into a company renamed Goebel IMS. Enditem
