<strong>China: Yunnan Tobacco Flavoring Raw Materials Development and Application Project Pass Appraisal</strong>

Recently, the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration entrusted the China Tobacco Yunnan Industrial Corp. to hold the Yunnan Tobacco Flavoring Raw Materials Development and Application Project identification meeting. This project was carried out by Yunnan Tobacco Scientific Research Institute, Hongta Group and HongyunHonghe Group together.

Conducting the appraisal was a panel of nine experts from tobacco industry.

In conducting the appraisal, the panel of experts believed that the project based on the plant resources in Yunnan and the demand of Yunnan-made cigarette, and germplasm resource, extraction technology, process control, quality guarantee, etc., formed the tobacco natural flavoring raw materials development and application technology system. The project completed the research contents stipulated in the contract, and achieved the expected economic and technical indexes. The project innovated on the extraction technology of natural flavorings, quality analysis and functional aspects, and reached the leading level in China, and the technology of tobacco engineering cells producing scent reached the leading level in the world.

On the basis of this conclusion, the panel of experts agreed that the project has reached the advanced level of the same type of technologies in China.
