<strong>China: Hunan Provincial Communist Party chief inspects Changde Tobacco Machinery</strong>

Secretary Xu Shousheng of the Chinese Communist Party Hunan Provincial Committee led a delegation to inspect Changde Tobacco Machinery Co. Ltd. in south central China's Hunan Province on January 18, visiting production facilities, hearing reports on operation and giving instructions on future business development of the enterprise.

Visiting the machining workshop, the delegation saw highly efficient operation of numerical control machining equipment one set after another, skillful processing of parts and components by skilled workers, and neat and orderly physical distribution of supplies. Seeing the enthusiastic scenes of production, Xu Shousheng, who doubles as chairman of the Standing Committee of Hunan Provincial People's Congress, smiled with delight.

After hearing reports on the work of Changde Tobacco Machinery Co., Ltd. given by Zhou Shiwei, Xu Shousheng highly affirmed the achievements made by Changde Tobacco Machinery Co., Ltd. in promoting new-type industrialization, promoting advancement of the national tobacco machinery manufacturing sector, promoting local economic development, etc.

In front of the Flexible Manufacturing System newly introduced by Changde Tobacco Machinery Co., Ltd., Xu Shousheng carefully asked about the processing control and management methods of the system, and heard introductions given by Zhou Shiwei. Afterwards, Xu Shousheng urged Changde Tobacco Machinery Co., Ltd. to seize all favorable opportunities, make new contribution to promoting development of the tobacco machinery manufacturing sector, continue strengthening efforts for technological transformation, firmly grasp core manufacturing technology, promote the level of manufacturing, and promote technological development of the enterprise.

During the inspection, the delegation visited the newly built Workshop No. 3 for executing the project of technological transformation of ultrahigh speed cigarette rolling and tipping units, where ZJ116 ultrahigh speed cigarette rolling and tipping units were being assembled under the flexible assembly mode. Zhou Shiwei reported to the delegation the basic situation of development of the home-manufactured ZJ116 ultrahigh speed cigarette rolling and tipping unit and the guideline of the enterprise on future business development.

Xu Shousheng expressed the hope that Changde Tobacco Machinery Co., Ltd. will stick to the path of development of new-type industrialization, will adhere to the policy of promoting technological progress with independent innovation, will strive to expand mechanisms for technological innovation through multiple channels of the manufacturing sector, academia and research institutions, will endeavor to make innovation, develop characteristics and show highlights in the field of technological development of home-manufactured tobacco machinery, and will strive to build itself into a "digitalized enterprise", and will make greater contribution to the development of China's tobacco industry and local economic development.

Accompanying the delegation during the inspection were leading officials including Han Yongwen, member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese Communist Party Hunan Provincial Committee and secretary-general of the Chinese Communist Party Hunan Provincial Committee, Wang Qun, secretary of the Chinese Communist Party Changde City Committee, and Zhou Derui, deputy secretary of the Chinese Communist Party Changde City Committee and mayor of Changde City.
