<strong>China: Project of Relocation, Technological Transformation of Redrying Factory Started</strong> Source from: TobaccoChina Online 03/14/2014 ![]() Chenzhou Leaf Tobacco Redrying Factory in Chenzhou City of south central China's Hunan Province held a ceremony on February 20 to lay a cornerstone for starting the project of its relocation and technological transformation, which is a priority project of Hunan Province for execution in the 2011-2015 five-year period for socioeconomic development. The new site of Chenzhou Leaf Tobacco Redrying Factory covers a total area of 518 mu (34.5 hectares). The construction area involved in the execution of the project will be 161,186 square meters. The total investment in the project is estimated at 981 million yuan (160 million U.S. dollars). The relocated Chenzhou Leaf Tobacco Redrying Factory will have two 12,000kg/h leaf tobacco threshing and redrying lines, with a designed annual production capacity of 1.2 million dan (6,000 tons). The main facilities to be built in the execution of the project include a 92,080-square-meter joint workshop for leaf tobacco threshing and redrying, one comprehensive building, one raw leaf tobacco storage, one boiler house and one customer service center. When the project is completed, the new Chenzhou Leaf Tobacco Redrying Factory will be capable of generating 230 million yuan (37 million U.S. dollars) in annual output value, paying nearly 100 million yuan (nearly 16 million U.S. dollars) in annual taxes, and providing more than 1,000 jobs.
