<strong>China: Director of STMA Meets with Chairman of Rayonier</strong>

On November 25,  Director of STMA Ling Chengxing, met with Paul G. Boynton, Chairman, President and CEO of Rainier. Both sides held friendly talks.

Deputy director of STMA Yang Peisen, officials of Foreign affair department and developing and planning department of STMA and directors of Zhuhai Cellulose Fibers Co. , Ltd and Nantong Cellulose Fibers Co. , Ltd also attended the meeting.

More than 85 years of expertise in advanced cellulosic chemistry and decades-long customer relationships are the basis of Rainier leadership in the cellulose specialties products, used in customized applications such as filtration, food, pharmaceuticals and LCD screens. Today approximately 50 percent of Rainier sales are to international customers in nearly 20 countries.

Rayonier was founded in 1926 as the Rainier Pulp and Paper Company with an office in San Francisco, California. Its first mill opened the next year in Shelton, Washington,and Port Angeles on the Olympic Peninsula. Rainier Pulp and Paper changed its name to Rayonier, a portmanteau of the words, "rayon" and "Rainier", in 1937, when it became a publicly traded company. In 1968,Rayonier was required and became ITT Rayonier. In 1974, Rayonier became the largest kraft pulp mill in the world.
