China: Newly Developed Reconstituted Tobacco Drying System put to Application

A first new-type reconstituted tobacco drying system developed by Kunming Shipbuilding Equipment Group Co., Ltd. in southwest China's Yunnan Province was recently put to application after successfully undergoing installation and debugging.

The project of developing the new-type reconstituted tobacco drying system was approved in May 2012. The system is an innovative product designed and developed by the tobacco machinery products section of the research institute of Kunming Shipbuilding Equipment Group Co., Ltd. at a time when traditional methods of drying, traditional technological indexes and traditional leaf tobacco processing quality could hardly meet the demand of higher technologies.

The system is capable of effectively making up for insufficiency of the traditional model of favorable (or reverse) gas flow from the current air dryer and the model of processing of thin plate contact drying, and applies the new-type current hot air drying principle to make temperature-increasing and dehydration treatment of leaf tobacco. Therefore, the system shows favorable technological advantages in terms of improving the quality of leaf tobacco drying, expanding the scope of technological parameters, reducing consumption, and, particularly, maintaining equipment. It is capable of reducing the loss of the original aroma of tobacco as much as possible under the premise of ensuring stability of the water content of the tobacco sheets, which well meets the requirement of the technology for low-temperature treatment of reconstituted tobacco.

Presently, the system shows stable performance in terms of all indexes of equipment operation, meeting the requirement of users for equipment technology. Enditem
