Filtrona Hungary Expands to Meet Growth in Eastern Europe

Since opening its doors five years ago, Filtrona Filters' Hungary plant has expanded its production capacity by more than one-third to meet rising demand for innovative special filters in eastern Europe. The size of the central European plant has increased from 7,600m2 in 2007 to 10,300m2 today and the number of employees has increased from 24 to 250 during the same period. As a result, the company can now meet approximately 120 complex customer specifications. "This expansion confirms that our decision five years ago to open a plant in Hungary was the right one," says Jake Aimson, Filtrona Filters' European multinationals director. "Its strategic central location and highly efficient logistics setup have enabled us to meet the needs of customers in the region as planned. With the demand for ever more innovative and visually differentiated filter products continuing to grow in eastern European markets, we expect the region to be a key focus area for many more years to come."
