Catering to the growing demand for tobacco savings, ITM has developed a versatile, portable online tobacco reclaimer-the Delphini. The new machine efficiently reclaims tobacco from a wide variety of cigarette types. The Delphini can process everything from ultra-slims to king-sized cigarettes with mono, combined and even capsule filters-without the risk of cross-contamination between blends and brands.

ITM guarantees a 95 percent recovery rate for king size cigarettes. In addition to reduced waste, this means fewer logistics and full control of the add-back process.
The Delphini can easily be integrated into existing cigarette makers. A specially designed alignment system creates a linear flow of single cigarettes. The gentle opening mechanism prevents damaged filters, which is essential for cigarettes with combined or capsule filters.
To guarantee a stable and controlled return of tobacco to the cigarette maker even as the level of rejections fluctuates, the machine can be equipped with an intelligent, self-learning dosing system. In addition to optimizing the feed-in of reclaimed tobacco, this also helps ensure the desired tobacco properties, including structure, moisture and blend.
With its modular, portable design and small foot print, a single Delphini to be used on different cigarette makers in the same factory. Its ergonomic construction provides quick access to the sieve and perforating unit, which enables the operator to carry out brand changes or maintenance in minimal time.
The Delphini will debut during a tobacco exhibition in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Sept. 19-21, 2012. Enditem
