Indonesia: Clove-flavored Filter Offered in Super Slim Format

Filtrona Filter Products has launched a super slim version of its clove-flavored filter to meet a growing demand from the Indonesian market for super slim cigarettes. The Super Slim Kretek Aroma filter is part of the company's new Indonesian Solutions product range, which also includes the Kretek Aroma filter in standard circumference, Sensation and CPS filters. In Indonesia, Filtrona said in a press note, the cost pressures of producing clove cigarettes and the increasing demand for super slim cigarettes had led to the creation of a niche market. "Super Slim Kretek Aroma supplements the flavor of cloves in the tobacco by incorporating a specially developed flavored additive in the filter," said Ahmad Fashihul Lisan, manager of Filtrona's Regional Development Centre in Indonesia. "This effectively allows cigarette manufacturers to meet the challenge of rising clove costs by reducing the actual clove content of kreteks, without altering the user's smoking experience…" "The combination of this with the popular super slim format makes it unique to the market." Filtrona said that another benefit of Super Slim Kretek Aroma was that it allowed cigarette manufacturers to control precisely the level of clove flavour in their cigarettes.
