H.B. Fuller Expands in India Source from: Tobacco Reporter 07/19/2012 ![]() H.B. Fuller is expanding its manufacturing capabilities with the construction of a $12 million facility in Pune, India. The plant has been producing hot-melt adhesives since March 2012 and is in the process of starting production of water-based adhesives for the tobacco and nontobacco markets.
H.B. Fuller's new factory includes a research-and-development laboratory, which allows the company to customize its products to the needs of local and export markets, and a quality-control lab.
"We are very proud of the Pune facility, which emphasizes H.B. Fuller's commitment to tobacco manufacturers from the SAARC Countries, covering the Indian subcontinent, the Middle East, Egypt and Africa, says Sandeep Garyali, H.B. Fuller country head of India.
"Our high-specification R&D laboratory enables H.B. Fuller to work in partnership with our customers to ensure we deliver the right adhesive solution that offers real value to our customers.
"This 6,500 square-meter facility has been built to satisfy the SAARC countries adhesives requirements until 2020, and I am confident that it will soon become a key source of adhesives for the tobacco manufacturing supply chain in the region."
The second-largest city in the state of Maharashtra, Pune is centrally located, with easy access to customers in India and abroad. The port of Mumbai is located only 100 kilometers to the northeast.
