New Tax Stamps Allow for Track and Trace

May 21, 2012-Hungary's new cigarette tax stamps are being produced by a consortium led by állami Nyomda (áN), the State Printing House Plc, which has been producing cigarette and alcohol stamps for the past 16 years. Tax stamps with two dimensional data matrix barcodes became mandatory on May 1. In a press note, áN said that the data matrix codes carried the unique serial numbers of the tax stamps and thus enabled the authorities to ‘track and trace' the stamps throughout the supply chain.Enditem
