China:Pact Signed on Technology for Establishing Flexible, Loose Leaf Moisturizing System

Qinhuangdao Tobacco Machinery Co., Ltd. in north China's Hebei Province and Shanghai Technology Center of China Tobacco Machinery Group Co., Ltd. signed an agreement on December 22, 2011 with Hauni Maschinenbau AG of Germany and Zhaotong Cigarette Factory of Hongta Group in southwest China's Yunnan Province on joint research and development of technology for establishing a flexible and loose leaf moisturizing system.

Establishment of a flexible and loose leaf moisturizing system is a support project of technological transformation for upgrading leaf tobacco cutting technology at Zhaotong Cigarette Factory. Leaders of China Tobacco Machinery Group Co., Ltd., Qinhuangdao Tobacco Machinery Co., Ltd. and Hongta Group attended the signing ceremony held at China Tobacco Machinery Group Co., Ltd. in Beijing. Establishment of a flexible and loose leaf moisturizing system at Zhaotong Cigarette Factory is a first joint research and development project conducted by Qinhuangdao Tobacco Machinery Co., Ltd., Shanghai Technology Center of China Tobacco Machinery Group Co., Ltd., Hauni Maschinenbau AG and Hongta Group. It is also the first joint research and development project since the founding of the Technology Center of Hongta Group and the Joint Laboratory of Qinhuangdao Tobacco Machinery Co., Ltd. In efforts to ensure smooth progression of the work of joint research and development, and ensure timely delivery for application by Zhaotong Cigarette Factory of Hongta Group, the parties concerned conducted many rounds of exchanges and talks on the content of the agreement on joint research and development of technology for establishing a flexible and loose leaf moisturizing system at Zhaotong Cigarette Factory, reaching broad consensus. The signing of the agreement on joint research and development of technology for establishing a flexible and loose leaf moisturizing system at Zhaotong Cigarette Factory signifies the entry into a new phase of the execution of the project.
