China: New Leaf Tobacco Threshing, Redrying Enterprise Incorporated in Southwest China

Sichuan Leaf Tobacco Threshing and Redrying Co., Ltd. was inaugurated at a grand ceremony held on December 16, 2011 as a new leaf tobacco threshing and redrying enterprise incorporated on the basis of the merger of five leaf tobacco threshing and redrying factories, signifying successful completion of a new round of structural reform of leaf tobacco threshing and redrying enterprises in southwest China's tobacco-producing Sichuan Province.

Sichuan Leaf Tobacco Threshing and Redrying Co., Ltd. was incorporated on the basis of the merger of Huili, Huidong, Dechang, Luzhou and Yibin Leaf Tobacco Threshing and Redrying Factories. With six leaf tobacco threshing and redrying lines, Sichuan Leaf Tobacco Threshing and Redrying Co., Ltd. has a designed capacity of processing 2.7 million dan (135,000 tons) of leaf tobacco annually. However, it is actually capable of processing 4 million dan (200,000 tons) of leaf tobacco a year. Sichuan Leaf Tobacco Threshing and Redrying Co., Ltd. applies the organizational model of "multiple processing bases under a same corporation" and the modern corporate management model as a joint stock limited company. It is the management and service center operated by the tobacco industry of Sichuan for organizing the processing and production of leaf tobacco, quality control, marketing, technological innovation and other operational activities.
