Eastman Starts Building New China Tow Plant

Eastman Chemical Co yesterday began building a new acetate tow production plant at Hefei, Anhui Province, China, according to a Business Wire story relayed by the TMA. Once completed, the new plant will be owned and operated by Eastman Shuangwei Fibers Co Ltd, a joint venture between Eastman and the China National Tobacco Corp. The new plant, which is expected to become operational in the middle of 2013, will have an annual production capacity of 30,000 tonnes. Enditem
