Innovia Adds Slitting Facility Source from: Tobacco Reporter 12/06/2011 ![]() Innovia Films will be adding a state-of-the-art slitting facility at its biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) production plant in Ghent, Belgium.
The new facility, which will increase overall tobacco films slitting capacity by 30 percent, is a fully automated Atlas CW650 slitting machine. According to Innovia Films, it features computer-controlled systems, a high speed center winder, quick set up, high accuracy and will ensure consistent high quality from beginning to end.
In addition to the slitting machine the project will also involve reorganizing existing space and building a new packaging store.
"This new facility will be one of the most advanced in the world and will give us both increased production capability and improved efficiency," says Chris Hooley, Innovia Film's marketing manager for tobacco.
