Fuller Launches New Tobacco Packaging Adhesive

H.B. Fuller, a leading global industrial adhesive manufacturer, says that it has developed ADVANTRA® PHC 9205, a high performance hot melt adhesive formulated for tobacco packaging. Advantra PHC 9205 is said to have the capability to offer outstanding performance on all 'typical packaging applications and machine types for the tobacco industry'. 'This performance has been achieved on all typical modern bundle packer systems as well as other packing applications and machine types including tray erection, tax stamps and case & carton sealing,' Fuller said in a press note. 'ADVANTRA® PHC 9205 hot melt adhesive offers superior bonding performance in heat-reactivation systems at lower than normal application and reactivation temperatures. Improved adhesion properties combined with a wide operating window and excellent heat stability provides an easy to use product. ADVANTRA® PHC 9205 hot melt adhesive is transparent and virtually odourless further enhancing the optimised line performance. 'ADVANTRA® PHC 9205 hot melt adhesive is formulated using lower density technology. This reduced density compared to typical EVA based hot melts delivers a strong adhesive bond with a reduced application quantity. This reduced consumption combined with lower application temperature delivers reduced wear on equipment and reduced levels of consumption … 'ADVANTRA® PHC 9205 hot melt adhesive offers excellent clean machining properties and machine efficiency for all kinds of nozzle and slot applications. The clean cut-off and fast cooling results in reduced levels of contamination or build up through machines.'
