Open House at ITM Asia Source from: Tobacco Reporter 07/18/2011 ![]() ITM Asia will present the latest developments in filter technology and logistics during a series of one-day events from Oct.17-21 at its new service center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Following the success of ITM Poland's Open House in October 2010, ITM will now discuss "the filter of tomorrow" in Asia.
On each day of the event, ITM will explain its regional service and support program and present its entire filter production cycle. Among other equipment, it will showcase its Polaris C charcoal filters machine, the Gemini filter rod handling platform and the Solaris, which ITM believes to be the world's most versatile and flexible multi-segment filter combiner.
According to ITM, the Solaris offers unprecedented flexibility in filter material handling as well as quick and safe changes of filter types. The machine is also capable of placing very small plugs within combined filters.
ITM invites clients to discuss their filter demands with its European developers and engineers. "In filter making, the sky is the limit," says Terry Lock, managing director of ITM Asia.
"ITM believes filter making is a field where innovations are essential. Tomorrow's tobacco market demands new types of filters, with specifications that go beyond the capabilities of current equipment.
