Sales And profit Up at Molins

Molins' sales last year, at £86.4 million, were up by 3.1 per cent on those of the previous year. Underlying operating profit was up by 5.7 per cent to £3.7 million and net cash from operating activities was up by 15.0 per cent to £9.2 million. The company's tobacco machinery division last year made a profit of £0.6 million on sales of £32.6 million; as against a profit of £2.9 million on sales of £36.0 million in 2009. Chief executive, Dick Hunter, said the division's performance had been impacted by reduced activity in respect of both new and rebuild machinery, and a reduction in after-market sales. Molins' scientific services division last year made a profit of £2.1 million on sales of £20.9 million; as against an operating profit of £2.5 million on sales of £22.0 million in 2009. And its packaging machinery division made a profit of £1.0 million on sales of £32.9 million; as against a loss of £1.9 million on sales of £25.8 million in 2009. Enditem
