Following the acquisition of BP Labels in March, the Coated & Security Products Division of Filtrona plc (C&SP) has created an enlarged label and narrow web flexible packaging business. Mark Palmer will assume responsibility for this new business, following the retirement of Andrew Wood as managing director of BP Labels in January 2011.

The new business will operate under the Payne brand in all label markets and combine the tobacco and brand protection label operations of Payne Security with BP Labels. This transition is anticipated to be complete by the end of March 2011.
As managing director - Labels, Mark Palmer brings more than 22 years experience across the C&SP businesses, with in-depth knowledge of both flexible packaging and authentication solutions.
"I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to further grow and develop our combined label operations under the Payne banner. I have been closely involved with the BP Labels team since the acquisition in March and look forward to building on the work to date leading our wider focus on delivering outstanding creativity, service and performance in label and narrow web packaging products to all our customers," said Palmer.
The enlarged labels business will continue to focus on manufacturing high quality, creative and secure self adhesive labels for the pharmaceutical, healthcare, cosmetic, tobacco and food & drink markets. Enditem
