Environmental Protection Facility of Tobacco Industry Passes Inspection Source from: Tobaccochina Online 06/13/2010 ![]() The environmental protection facility for the paper-process tobacco sheet production project operated by the tobacco industry of central China's Henan Province has recently passed stringent inspection for technical acceptance by a panel of experts.
On June 5, a panel of experts from the government's competent environmental protection agencies at the provincial, city and county levels conducted inspection of the environmental protection facility for the 250-million-yuan (36 million U.S. dollar) paper-process tobacco sheet production project installed at Henan Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation.
In the inspection, the panel of experts carefully heard reports on environmental protection on the part of the project, reviewed a report on monitoring the environmental protection facility upon completion of its construction issued by Henan Provincial Environmental Monitoring Center, and conducted on-site verification to check the situation of operation.
After review of data, inspection and on-site verification, the panel of experts made a comprehensive appraisal to determine that the environmental protection facility for the paper-process tobacco sheet production project meets the relevant requirements of the government approval in terms of the overall quality of the project, the area of its greenbelt, the quality of the air over the facility, the noise level, the treatment of sewage and garbage, the discharge of pollutants, etc, and agreed that the environmental protection facility has passed the inspection for technical acceptance in principle.
Built in 2007, the paper-process tobacco sheet production project has a designed annual production capacity of 10,000 tons of tobacco sheets. Enditem
