ISO Certification for Hoffmann Neopac AG

Hoffmann Neopac AG (Hoffmann The Tin) has been certified according to the Offset Print Process standard (PSO). The Swiss company, which manufactures tins and pocket packs in metal and plastic for the tobacco, confectionery, food and nonfood industries, is one of the first in the metal printing sector to receive this certification. As a certified operation, Hoffmann offers verifiable printing quality through defined set values and tolerances that represent what is reasonable and feasible in the individual printing processes. Print quality and repeatability are of major importance to tobacco companies. While customers often award print jobs to multiple printing companies, they expect the print result to be consistent. This presents a challenge because every printing shop works according to its own internal standards with regard to the print data preparation, the digital proofing, the copying of the offset print plates and the printing itself. There is also the factor of the printing inks that are used, which have to satisfy special requirements in tin printing. PSO enables Hoffmann to make the entire process chain controllable, from the pre-print to the print. PSO is an international ISO standard. The standardization affects the data transfer, the data preparation, the soft proof on color-calibrated screens, the production of digital proofs with definitive colors, the standard light for the matching, the offset printing and the printing inks used through compliance with predefined color density values within the tolerance range during the printing process.
