Schweitzer-Mauduit Gets Supply Agreement

Tobacco paper company Schweitzer-Mauduit International Inc. on Thursday said that it will be the paper supplier for an Australian cigarette company. The Georgia-based company has reached an agreement with British American Tobacco Australia Ltd. to provide papers for its fire-safe cigarettes in Australia. Australia requires that all cigarettes manufactured or imported into the country by 2010 have a lower ignition property. The companies did not disclose the financial terms of the multiyear agreement. Shares of Schweitzer rose $1.09, or 3.6 percent, to $31.37 in afternoon trading. Enditem
