China National Tobacco Corporation, Hauni of Germany Sign Pacts on Technology Transfer, Cooperation

China National Tobacco Corporation and Hauni Maschinenbau AG of Germany, at a ceremony in Beijing on June 18, signed two agreements on technology transfer and cooperation - the agreement on the PROTOS 2-2 ultra high speed cigarette-making unit technology transfer and the agreement on all-round cooperation on tobacco cutting equipment and technology - signifying the entry into a new phase of the cooperation between the two sides. Deputy Director-General Li Keming of the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration (STMA) - the regulator of China's tobacco industry - attended the signing ceremony, and held talks with Richard Bauer, Executive Board Chairman of Hauni Maschinenbau AG of Germany, on further strengthening of bilateral technology cooperation. The Board of Directors Chairman Wang Chongguang of China Tobacco Machinery Group Co., Ltd. and Richard Bauer respectively delivered addressed at the signing ceremony. Singing the agreements were General Manager Zhang Benfu of China National Tobacco Corporation, Wang Chongguang and Richard Bauer. The signing of the two agreements is mainly intended to promote the innovation of technology and management of tobacco machinery in China and the research and development of cigarette-making equipment and tobacco cutting equipment meeting the requirement for producing Chinese-style cigarettes, and to provide powerful technology support and equipment guarantee for the development of tobacco processing enterprises in China, through promotion of exchange and cooperation with world-famous foreign tobacco machinery manufacturers in various forms.
