Schweitzer-Mauduit Names COO

Schweitzer-Mauduit International, Inc. has promoted Otto R. Herbst, president of the Americas, to chief operating officer. Herbst was president of the Americas since August 2006. He joined Alpharetta, Ga.-based Schweitzer-Mauduit in April 1999 as president of Brazilian operations. Wilfred A. Martinez will take over as president of the Americas. Martinez previously was with tile and stone installations company Laticrete International Inc. from 1996 to 2008. Schweitzer-Mauduit makes premium specialty papers and is the world's largest supplier of fine papers to the tobacco industry. Enditem
