Luncheon Features Tobacco Use Prevention Source from: The Daily Ardmoreite Nov 06, 2008 Ardmore, OK 11/07/2008 The Southern Oklahoma Business and Industry Council Luncheon will begin at noon on Wednesday in the Seminar Center located on the campus of the Southern Oklahoma Technology Center. Janie Horton, Carter County Tobacco Use Prevention Coordinator, will be the featured speaker.
The concern for employee wellness is an increasing trend for American business. Employers who integrate employee wellness into their business objectives find they experience fewer employee absences, better company morale, reduced health risks and lower health care costs. Workplace wellness programs encourage all employees to eat better, move more and be tobacco-free.
Horton will focus on the third part of that equation since promoting and supporting a tobacco-free workplace is good business and improves employee health.
The purpose of SOBIC is to provide business and industry professionals the opportunity to network while exploring topics of interest crucial to business success. SOBIC is co-hosted by the Ardmore Development Authority, the Ardmore Chamber of Commerce, the Southern Oklahoma Technology Center and the Oklahoma Manufacturing Alliance. The cost of the luncheon is provided by the sponsors. Enditem
