Tann Group, member of Trierenberg Holding AG, expands its market presence in China by opening its second tipping paper plant on mainland China. Tann Shanghai - a joint venture company between the Austrian based manufacturer of special papers and Shanghai Tobacco Corporation - officially opened on 7th November 2007 at exactly 10.18 a.m., an auspicious date according to the Chinese calendar. Tann Shanghai produces tipping paper for the needs of Shanghai Tobacco and its affiliates. The joint investment between Shanghai Tobacco and Tann Group in a tipping plant is owed to Tann group′s long experience and commitment to the Chinese market and its reputation of being a stable and reliable business partner. Following the invitation of the CEO of Tann Group, Mr. Christian Trierenberg, the opening ceremony was attended by local government officials from Shanghai municipality and leading representatives of the Chinese Tobacco Monopoly in Beijing. The Chinese shareholder was represented by the General Managers of Shanghai Tobacco Corporation. Mr. Trierenberg mentioned in his inauguration speech that such a "cooperation of two market leaders provides the opportunity to make use of the competitive advantages, strengths and resources of each partner".
