Chinese Tobacco Machinery Manufacturer Develops New Units for Processing Cigarette-Making Materials

Xuchang Tobacco Machinery Co., Ltd. in east central China's Henan Province has independently developed two new types of equipment for processing cigarette-making materials - the YF172 Filter Tip Solidification, Storage and Conveyance Unit and the YF63 Pack Storage and Conveyance Unit, under license by China National Tobacco Machinery Group Corporation. On January 10, the prototypes of the YF172 Filter Tip Solidification, Storage and Conveyance Unit and the YF63 Pack Storage and Conveyance Unit passed acceptance inspection by China National Tobacco Machinery Group Corporation in Zhaotong City of southwest China's Yunnan Province. The YF172 Filter Tip Solidification, Storage and Conveyance Unit is mainly used as part of the filter tip automatic supply production line. It is capable of flexibly connecting the filter tip forming machine and the filter tip sending set, with the functions of completing automatic conveyance, storage, dash adjustment, solidification, etc of filter tips and realizing automatic supply filter tips in cigarette production. It is easy to operate and repair, and is of the characteristics of flexible layout, high reliability, etc. The YF63 Pack Storage and Conveyance Unit is a type of flexible connecting and conveyance equipment between the packet packing machine and the carton packing machine. Its major function is to directly send packets of cigarettes turned out from the packet packing machine to the carton packing machine. When the packet packing machine and the carton packing machine are out of step, the YF63 Pack Storage and Conveyance Unit will automatically store up or supplement packets of cigarettes, to raise the effective work efficiency of the units. The prototypes of the YF172 Filter Tip Solidification, Storage and Conveyance Unit and the YF63 Pack Storage and Conveyance Unit were separately transported to Zhaotong Cigarette Factory and Honghe Cigarette Factory under Yunnan Honghe Tobacco (Group) Co., Ltd. for on-site test run in December 2006. Both prototypes already passed acceptance inspection by the cigarette factories respectively in April and June 2007. On January 7-8, 2008, a panel of experts conducted on-site tests of the prototypes of the YF172 Filter Tip Solidification, Storage and Conveyance Unit and the YF63 Pack Storage and Conveyance Unit separately. During the period of test-run, both prototypes operated smoothly, with the effective operation rate reaching 100 percent.
