New logistic center for regional tobacco company goes into operation

The Meishan City Branch of Sichuan Provincial Tobacco Company in southwest China’s Sichuan Province inaugurated its newly build logistic center in the city’s Economic Development Zone on March 23, with a total cigarette storage capacity of 7,600 cases (380 million cigarettes). With a total investment of more than 26 million yuan (3.25 million U.S. dollars), construction of the logistic center started in March 2006. Construction of the logistic center was a pilot project for the development of logistic facilities for the tobacco industry of Sichuan. With a complete range of advanced equipment and functions, the logistic center has been rated as a first class modern logistic enterprise for the provincial tobacco industry, equipped with ten standardized systems, including a cigarette trade decision-making system and a digital storage management system.
