MM Packaging Expands in 'Dynamic Market'

Just a few months after the start up of a new 10-color rotogravure line at its recently-completed second cigarette packaging site in Cherkassy, Ukraine, MM Packaging has announced that a second rotogravure machine will be commissioned in April and a third line at the end of this year. Andreas Blaschke, a member of the Mayr-Melnhof Group's management board responsible for global packaging sales, said that MM Packaging's commitment to Ukraine - and neighboring countries - stemmed from its confidence in the demand on what he described as one of Eastern Europe's most dynamic markets, and from the high level of loyalty it had enjoyed from its international customers. During the past 10 years, the company's cigarette packaging operations in Ukraine had gained a strong hold in the market, but the current rotogravure expansion program marked a milestone, MM Packaging said in a press note. The company could now offer 'outstanding capacities' in all three technologies - rotogravure, flexo and offset - from its two Ukrainian facilities. Enditem
