Coal Supplies Improving Source from: tobaccoreporter.com Zimbabwe, Tuesday, January 2, 2007 01/05/2007 ![]() Two weeks after complaining that coal shortages could affect the curing of Zimbabwe's irrigated tobacco crop, the Tobacco Industry Marketing Board (TIMB) has reported that supplies have now improved, according to a report in The Herald.
"I can confirm that we have received a sizeable amount of coal supplies which, I am sure, will be of great assistance to farmers, but am not in a position to divulge the figures as of now," the TIMB technical services director, Dr Andrew Matibiri, was reported as saying.
The TIMB was currently making concerted efforts to ensure that farmers received 'as much coal as they could', Dr Matibiri added. More deliveries were expected soon. Enditem
