Korea: Cigarette Packs to be Wrapped with Warning Images from December Source from: The Korea Times 06/15/2016 ![]() Tobacco companies must put warning labels on cigarette packs from December 23, the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) has confirmed. The new amendment, which passed the National Assembly on Tuesday, states that cigarette packs have to show a warning picture on the front and warning phrases on the back and sides. The MOHW and cigarette companies have long feuded over the size and placement of the labels. The companies say the new amendment infringes their design rights as well as the rights of retailers and customers. The MOHW's decision was made after the regulatory reform committee changed its stance and backed warning labels. The amendment also includes warnings for electronic cigarettes and chewing tobacco.
