Gold medal for Fiji''s ''No tobacco'' effort

Health Ministry's effort to combat the use of tobacco in the country has not gone unnoticed.

Today, Health Minister Jone Usamate received a gold medal from the World Health Organisation for Fiji's efforts on World No Tobacco Day.

WHO Representative and Director of the Division of Pacific Technical Support, Dr Liu Yunguo awarded Mr Usamate today.

Mr Usamate thanked former health officials who initiated the move on No Tobacco.

"This award is not only for us but for those former ministers and permanent secretaries that have also been part of this effort in the country in previous years," Mr Usamate said. Enditem
