Spain: Cigarettes for strawberries to celebrate World No Tobacco Day

Today, 12th May, on the occasion of World No Tobacco Day, the University of Huelva will hold the customary exchange of strawberries for cigarettes. Between 11 am and 1 pm, members of the community can come to the tables located on the campus of El Carmen, La Rabida and La Merced to receive information on the effects of tobacco and on the options available to quit smoking.

The University has the support of the Provincial Delegation of Equality, Health and Social Policies, the Andalusian Health Service and the Huelva-Costa District, as well as the company Agromatín, which will once again provide the strawberries. The initiative will also count with the invaluable assistance of University volunteers.

This initiative is the starting point for the development of various actions to be carried out during the rest of the month, with a firm commitment to work for the health of the university community, disseminating information, developing awareness campaigns, identifying aid resources and facilitating access to them.
