Northern Ireland Signs on to Plain Packaging

Northern Ireland Health Minister Jim Wells said his government backs uniform packaging for cigarettes, and that he expects the proposal will be implemented UK-wide in 2016, the BBC said.

Wells said ministers in Wales, Scotland and England all are proposing implementing the same plain-pack legislation backed by the national government that plans a parliamentary vote on the measure prior to 30 March. Enditem
