Smuggling of Consumer Goods from Russia to Azerbaijan Begins

The Azerbaijani State Customs Committee (SCC) has tightened the control on the border against the background of increasing excise duties for imported tobacco.

The SCC informs that the Main Customs Department ceased the fact of illegal import of 4,080 unmarked local excise packets of cigarettes on the air transport.

"A citizen of Azerbaijan, Elchin Teymurov, who came by flight Moscow-Lankaran, wanted to import illegally foreign excised boxes of cigarettes," the Committee informed. Enditem
