Nepal: CIAA Raids Tobacco Firms

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority today raided various business firms on suspicion of their involvement in tax evasion.

A team from the anti-graft body, including tax officials, raided Green Tobacco Company, Avinav Tobacco Industry and Om Sai Tobacco Industry located at Ramkot-3, Sitapaila. The team also seized various goods used for making tobacco-related products and a vehicle.

Similarly, the CIAA also raided Thimi-based Nikoshera Kery Tobacco Pvt Ltd and seized tobacco products and other materials. Later, it handed all the items to Inland Revenue Office, Bhaktapur. Enditem
