Indonesia: Jakartans Told to Do Exercise, Stop Smoking Source from: Jakarta Post (id) 03/29/2013 ![]() Jakarta Governor Joko "Jokowi" Widodo says residents should not let themselves go to pot now that they have free healthcare. "Even though the administration has implemented free healthcare for all Jakartans, I'm calling on all of you to practice a healthy lifestyle as a preventive measure: Eat healthy, exercise regularly and also stop smoking," Jokowi said at an open meeting on the Jakarta Health Card (KJS) plan at City Hall on Wednesday. Jokowi and Jakarta Health Agency head Dien Emmawati were on hand to listen to public grievances about the KJS plan, which entitles residents to free third-class healthcare at 92 public and private hospitals. "All of you have to understand that not every sick person needs to be treated at a hospital," Jokowi said. "You don't go to hospital when you have a cold or other non-serious condition. You should just go to a puskesmas [community health center] instead." More than 1.9 million people have sought third-class service at hospitals in Jakarta in 2013 to date, or about 60 percent of the 3.3 million third-class patients for the whole of 2012. Enditem |
