Bulgarian Police Find Nearly 1 Million Cigarettes without Excise Stamps

 

 

Bulgaria's Chief Directorate for Fight with Organized Crime has found nearly 1 million cigarettes without excise stamps, announced the press center of the Interior Ministry.

The police operation was conducted on Wednesday. At about 10:00 a.m. local time the police checked a Mercedes vehicle driven by the 44-year-old M.L. The crime-busters found the contraband behind boxes of light fixtures. They seized 990,000 cigarettes without excise stamps. M.L. has a criminal record of hooliganism and possession of explosive devices and ammunition. He is under 24-hour arrest. Pre-trial proceedings were opened. Enditem
