Chile Likely to Ban Electronic Cigarettes

Electronic cigarettes will be banned in Chile from November if Congress passes regulations recently proposed by the Ministry of Health, according to a report in the Santiago Times. These devices are said to have enjoyed a small rise in popularity around the country during the past few years and are now to be used by more than 18,000 people. "The law will help us further control tobacco consumption and make a real impact on the health of Chileans," said Health Minister, Jaime MaƱalich. "We can't help addicts by giving them another drug to be dependent on." Enditem
