Japan: PMI Postpones Nationwide iQOS Rollout

Philip Morris International (PMI) moved back the iQOS national rollout date to 18 April, citing potential supply shortages due to popularity of the heat-not-burn product in Japanese test markets, Reuters reported.

Both PMI and Japan Tobacco, which launched its Ploom Tech heat-not-burn product nationwide in early March, told Reuters expectations are high for the smoking alternative. IQOS is fueled by Marlboro HeatSticks and Ploom Tech employs Mevius tobacco capsules. Enditem
