BAT Malaysia: Smokes Price Increase not True

The prices of popular cigarettes like Dunhill, Kent, Pall Mall and Peter Stuyvesant have not been raised.

Tobacco company British American Tobacco Malaysia (BAT Malaysia) today denied circulating a new price list for its brand of cigarettes.

The list which has been in circulation on various social media websites since Tuesday night was dismissed as false.

Other brands on the false "hike" list are Lucky Strike, Kent and Rothmans.

BAT Malaysia, has lodged a police report.

"We urge the public not to spread this false price list," said BAT Malaysia in a statement today.

BAT Malaysia was established in November 1999 following a merger between Rothmans of Pall Mall (Malaysia) and Malaysian Tobacco Company Berhad. Enditem
