China: Delegation from Higher Authorities Inspects Xinjiang Cigarette Factory

A delegation of leading officials from China Tobacco Yunnan Industrial Co., Ltd. and Xinjiang Uigur Autonomous Region Tobacco Monopoly Administration (Company) inspected Xinjiang Cigarette Factory of HongyunHonghe Tobacco Group on August 21, raising a package of requirements for economic growth and development of cigarette products.

The delegation was led by China Tobacco Yunnan Industrial Co., Ltd. Deputy General Manager Gu Bo, and Deputy General Manager Liu Jianchang and Deputy Inspector Chen Yaomin of Xinjiang Uigur Autonomous Region Tobacco Monopoly Administration (Company).

During the inspection, the delegation paid on-site visit to the production workshops at the cigarette factory, and held talks with the management staff at the middle level and higher.

At the talks, Xinjiang Cigarette Factory Director Cheng Zhenxi briefed the delegation on the basic situation of Xinjiang Cigarette Factory, and reported to it the situation of production and operation of Xinjiang Cigarette Factory from January to July.

Speaking at the talks, Liu Jianchang raised a package of three requirements to Xinjiang Cigarette Factory:

Firstly, Xinjiang Cigarette Factory needs to seek new points of economic growth. Secondly, the cigarette factory needs to step up the development of new cigarette products and improvement of the quality and maintenance of existing products. And thirdly, the cigarette factory needs to step up development of logistics in the same city.

Speaking on the same occasion, Gu Bo pointed out that Xinjiang Cigarette Factory spent just one month completing its relocation to a new site, and that after overcoming the many difficulties, the cigarette factory is in a gradual shift toward regularization, with the whole factory taking on an entirely new look, and with the entire workforce in a favorable mental state.

As the equipment at the new site of the factory is at a relatively high start point, there will be higher requirement for management there. Therefore, in future development, Xinjiang Cigarette Factory needs to attach greater importance to on-site management and equipment management. It is believable that Xinjiang Cigarette Factory will definitely be able to make greater contribution to realization of the target set by Director-General Ling Chengxing of the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration to increase the amount of annual taxes and profits generated by the tobacco industry of Xinjiang to a high of 4 billion yuan (650 million U.S. dollars) by the end of the 2011-2015 five-year period, Gu Bo said.
