India: ITC Launches E-cigarette in Two Cities

ITC has forayed into electronic cigarettes (does not contain tobacco) under the brand name- Eon to offset risk of shrinking sales of its conventional tobacco cigarettes due to recurrent price increases and government enhancing focus to curb the consumption of tobacco products.

Being tobacco-free, Eon will not be subjected to regulations under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act and can be consumed, marketed and sold like any consumer product. The product is currently being test marketed in Kolkata and Hyderabad and will be rolled out pan India in phase manner. Enditem
